Holistic Therapy for Moms in the Bay Area

Postpartum isn’t supposed to feel this overwhelming. And perimenopause isn’t supposed to start this early. But when these two seasons overlap, everything feels off.

When Motherhood Feels Different Than You Imagined.

Postpartum is not supposed to feel this overwhelming. Perimenopause is not supposed to start this early. But when these two seasons overlap, everything can feel “off.”

If you are dealing with postpartum anxiety, hormonal mood swings, brain fog, exhaustion, irritability, night sweats, low libido, or a body that feels foreign and no one seems to be talking about it, you are not imagining things. You may be in the postpartum–perimenopause overlap, a phase many providers overlook.

Many of the women I work with are high-achieving moms who are used to figuring things out — the career, the marriage, the plans. From the outside, everything looks in place. But it’s common that after having a baby, nothing feels the way you thought it would. Even with deep love for your family, it can feel unsettling to experience anxiety, disconnection, or a loss of yourself.

Many women I work with say things like:

I had my baby years ago, but I feel like I never fully recovered

The fatigue never really went away, no matter how much I try to rest

I practice gratitude and I’ve tried talk therapy, but I still feel constantly irritable.

My cycle is changing, I’m skipping periods, and my body feels unpredictable.

I can’t concentrate and I’m starting to wonder if this is just what motherhood is now

There is a path forward. With the right support, healing can happen sooner than you think. Innovative therapeutic approaches can help you feel grounded, connected, and whole again.

When Postpartum and Perimenopause Overlap

Here is the part most people are not told: perimenopause can start as early as your mid-thirties or early forties, which is also when many women are having babies or raising young kids.

Hormone shifts after birth + early perimenopause changes + stress + sleep loss can create symptoms that feel confusing, scary, or extreme.

This overlap can include:

Hormonal imbalance

Cortisol overload from years of caregiving and interrupted sleep

Blood sugar crashes that mimic anxiety

Nutrient depletion from pregnancy and breastfeeding

Nervous system dysregulation and old trauma resurfacing in parenting

You deserve care that sees the full picture, not just fragmented symptoms. With the right support, it is possible to feel calmer, clearer, and more at home in your changing body and in this season of motherhood.

about me

Hi, I'm Bridget.

I know how easy it is for women to silently carry shame, anxiety, and disconnection, even when everything looks fine on the outside. I have lived that myself.

When I first became a mother nearly nine years ago, I went through intense postpartum anxiety and felt completely overwhelmed, because no one had prepared me for it. I had heard of postpartum depression, but not the kind of anxiety and rage that made me feel like a stranger in my own life.

Years later, after my second baby and the stress of the pandemic, I started noticing something different: constant fatigue, irritability, brain fog, hair loss, aches and pains, and skipped periods. It was not just postpartum anymore. I was also entering perimenopause, and again, no one was talking about how those two seasons could overlap.

I went back to therapy, studied everything I could about the postpartum–perimenopause connection, and trained in integrative approaches that look at mind, body, hormones, and nervous system together. What I have learned and implemented in my own life is the foundation of the work I do with moms today.

My approach blends evidence-based therapy with holistic support that looks at the whole of who you are: your history, sleep, nutrition, movement, cycle patterns, relationship dynamics, spiritual beliefs, and access to rest and community. I also collaborate with other wellness providers so you can get a personalized plan instead of piecing it together alone.

You don’t have to keep carrying this by yourself or googling symptoms in the middle of the night. With the right support, you can feel calm, connected to your kids and partner, confident, and at home in yourself again.

My Specialties

KAP Therapy

KAP is a holistic therapeutic modality used as a complement to psychotherapy to help eligible patients experience more frequent breakthroughs and sustained improvement in symptoms. This breakthrough integrative therapy is offered in the comfort of your own home (Bay Area only), and your partner is welcome to sit with you during the session.

It is a legal, safe, and effective therapy used to treat a variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, and PTSD. It has rapidly acting mood-enhancing effects, which can begin within 1–2 hours after treatment and last for up to 2 weeks.

It works by helping form new, positive connections in the brain that regulate stress and mood. Many couples notice less reactivity, a deeper connection, and a steadier home rhythm.

Walk-and-Talk Therapy

This is a nature-based therapy practice where you and I meet up at an agreed-upon trail and practice mindfulness skills in a setting while walking. You are welcome to bring your babies. The combination of physical activity, therapeutic conversation, and nature exposure can promote holistic well-being for both mothers and their babies. Walk-and-talk therapy can be more accessible and less intimidating than traditional therapy settings, encouraging more mothers to seek the help they need.

The Mama Wellness Method

The Mama Wellness Method is a 12-week integrative program for moms in the postpartum and perimenopause window. We combine relational and somatic psychotherapy with functional wellness insights so you can address root causes, not just manage symptoms. Sessions focus on mood, hormones, gut health, sleep, stress, and identity, with optional lab testing and collaboration with a functional medicine doctor and nutritionist. You leave with a personalized wellness plan and practical tools you can actually use in daily life.
